A helping hand for the students of Silverkandy

Silverkandy Tamil Vidyalayam Secondary School is situated in the Ragala area of the Walapane education zone in the Nuwara Eliya district, accommodating approximately 450 students.

For a considerable duration, the school grappled with inadequate sanitary facilities, especially affecting the students who predominantly hail from families employed in the tea estates surrounding the area.

To address this pressing concern, Gammadda initiated a project to install a sanitation system in response to the principal's request. The project reached completion on February 16, 2024, and the facilities were officially handed over to the students.

This project was made possible by the kind heartedness of Mr. V. Nadesan of Wellawatte and Mr. Layantha Bandara of Ja Ela who funded the worthy initiative.
